The curtain consists of 66 bright plastic fiber strands that continuously change color. These soft strands invite touching, movement, and discovery – a true experience of "light in your hands".

Therapeutic and multisensory application

A fiber optic light curtain is widely used in sensory integration therapy, Snoezelen therapy, and relaxation sessions. Its main therapeutic effect is the stimulation of the visual system, which directly influences the user’s psycho-emotional state. The calming color transitions offer structure, safety, and visual appeal for children and adults with:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Intellectual disabilities
• Dementia or Alzheimer’s
• Speech and sensory processing disorders
• Anxiety, restlessness, or depressive symptoms
Users can sit beneath the curtain or enjoy the light show from elsewhere in the room.

Note: Pulling on the fiber strands is not allowed. Touching and gentle play are recommended.

Interactive with Nenko Interactive switches

This product is part of the Nenko Interactive line. When used with Nenko switches, users can control the colors and lighting effects themselves, enhancing autonomy, engagement, and interaction. The switches are sold separately.

A switch is not required to change the colors of this curtain. The colors shift automatically, creating a varied light effect. However, if you want more interaction and control, you can use Nenko Interactive products to adjust the colors manually to suit preferences or moments.

A light source is required to operate the curtain. This is not included in the set but can be ordered separately via our webshop. Only with a light source will the fiber strands' vibrant colors come fully to life.

What is the difference between the shimmer curtain and the shimmer curtain with rod?

The only difference between the shimmer curtain and the shimmer curtain with rod is the wall mount with a 180° rotatable arm.

The shimmer curtain with rod includes a sturdy wall mount with a 180° rotating arm, allowing you to easily move the curtain aside or bring it closer to the user.

The standard shimmer curtain contains only the fiber optic strands and can be attached to a custom or existing suspension system.

Both versions offer the same visual effects, require a separate light source, and are compatible with Nenko Interactive switches.
