Southpaw linear glider - large
The Southpaw Linear Glider is a versatile therapeutic tool that provides vestibular stimulation and helps improve balance, weight shifting, and bilateral coordination. Thanks to its robust design and wide range of applications, the Linear Glider is suitable for users of all ages and abilities, both in professional environments and at home. Should be hung 1.35m to 1.65m apart. It can also be hung from one point, but this will limit its range of motion.
Therapeutic benefits
Vestibular input – Stimulates the vestibular system in a safe and controlled environment, contributing to improved balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.
Weight shifting – Trains the ability to shift body weight from one side to the other, essential for stability and motor skills.
Bilateral coordination – Promotes the cooperation of both sides of the body, important for both gross and fine motor activities.
Widely applicable
The Southpaw Linear Glider is ideal for use in:
- Schools and therapeutic facilities
- Sensory and motor skills rooms
- Occupational therapy and physiotherapy
Possible applications:
Training balance and coordination during motor activities such as climbing and jumping
Improving bilateral coordination for fine motor skills such as writing and drawing
Providing sensory breaks and targeted vestibular exercises
Important Safety Information
Always use in combination with the Southpaw suspension system with swivel and the Southpaw suspension system with safety snap. (safety snap included)
Check whether the ceiling is suitable for the load capacity and preferably have this tested by a structural engineer.
Ensure a safe setup with sufficient crash mats and regular inspection of the equipment.
Design and features
- Sturdy platform with removable carpet for easy cleaning
- Handles for extra grip and safety
- Edges covered with furniture-grade vinyl for added protection
- Suspension lines with stabilizing bars for controlled movement
- Includes 2 safety snaps for secure attachment
The Linear Glider can also be attached to a single suspension point, although this will limit its range of motion.
Always use in combination with the Southpaw suspension system with swivel and the Southpaw suspension system with safety snap.
Weight: 18 kg
Includes platform, removable carpet, handles, and safety snaps
Suitable for children, teenagers, and adults
We always recommend having the ceiling inspected by a structural engineer to ensure it can support the required working loads. Carefully read our safety and working load documentation. Also, take into account other important safety aspects such as the layout of the clinic or therapy room, implementing a systematic inspection program for the equipment, using appropriate mats, and applying personal protective equipment.
Attach a Southpaw suspension system with safety snap (included) to the loop at the top of the glider and secure it to the suspension point. If necessary, use a Southpaw suspension system with height adjuster (13626652) to set the glider to the correct height. If the standard ceiling suspension options are not compatible with your ceiling type, we offer the Southpaw ceiling mount (2192652) as a suitable solution.
For rotational movements, always use a Southpaw suspension system with rotational device (13738652).
